Bhubaneswar, Oct. 12: This Dussehra, many Odia films will be screened outside the state and India.

Susant Mani's latest release Kehi Nuhe Kahara will be screened next week in Dubai and Muscat. While there are around 1,700 Odias residing in Dubai, the number is around 600 in Muscat.

Mani's film starring newcomers Elina Samantray and Avisekh Rath is a love story with a thriller twist. Apart from an international screening, the film will also be released in Bangalore, Hyderabad, New Delhi and Surat during the Dussehra weekend.

Moreover, Pilata Bigidigala starring popular Odia film industry couple Sabyasachi Mishra and Archita Sahu will be released in Bangalore.

"There is a great demand for Odia films in Bangalore as over 10 lakh Odias reside here. We are expecting a good response," said Sabyasachi.

"People residing outside the country and Odisha always wish to keep track of films made in their native place, but they rarely get an opportunity to watch them. We did a market survey and found out that the number of Odias residing in these places is quite high and they are aware of the films made here. So, we decided to screen the film there," said producer Akshay Parija.

That apart, Rangila Baba that was released last week will also be screened in Bangalore and Hyderabad. The film directed by Sanjay Nayak is loosely based on the story of controversial spiritual leader Sarathi baba.

Earlier, films such as Something...Something, Raja Jhia Sange Hei Gala Bhaba, 143 I Love You and Kebe Tame Nahan Kebe Mu Nahin were released in many cities outside Odisha.

"Once a film is released here, we try to ensure that audiences residing outside the state get a chance to watch them," said Mani.

A number of upcoming Odia films such as Jaga Hathare Pagha starring Anubhav Mohanty and Tu Kahibu Na Mu with Amlan are also slated to be released in cities outside Odisha.
