Berhampur : Nine persons were injured in a clash between the residents of two localities at Tatadapalli village of the district on Saturday.
"The clash took place in the morning when bombs were hurled. We have arrested nine persons and the number may go up," said Golanthara police station inspector-in-charge Aloke Jena.
"They had clashed earlier as well because of past enmity," he said.
The injured - six from one group and three from the other - were admitted to MKCG. One platoon of police is deployed at the village to avoid any further untoward incidents, said Jena.
Nearly 20 people were involved in the clash, said D. Lachheya, a villager.
The two groups had disputes over fishing in the village pond, selection of venue for Ganesh Puja and other issues.
