Bhubaneswar, Sept. 23: Messages reading “Get well soon” are pouring in from various quarters for the 29-year-old Odia techie Linkan Subuddhi, who is admitted at a Noida hospital after being attacked for protesting against the marriage of a minor girl.

While chief minister Naveen Patnaik condemned the attack, resident commissioner Vipin Saxena today assured the victim of all help. “We are in touch with the Delhi and Uttar Pradesh governments to arrest the accused,” said Saxena.

Chairperson of the state commission for women Lopamudra Buxipatra and Rajya Sabha member Renubala Pradhan also met Linkan. The National Commission for Women today sent two of its members, Manasi Pradhan and Nirmala Sawant, to meet the girl.

“One of the accused persons has been arrested. Neither the Uttar Pradesh government nor the Odisha government has provided any help to the victim, so far,” said Pradhan.

BJP MP Dharmendra Pradhan, Congress Rajya Sabha member Ramchandra Khuntia, former Congress minister Kanhu Charan Lenka and others also met Linkan and assured her of all help.
