Delhi Public School preparatory tiny tots formally finished their kindergarten schooling and stepped into Class I, ready to continue their sojourn into the main stream of education in the academic session 2014-15.
To celebrate this milestone and congratulate the children on their achievements, a two-day graduation ceremony held on March 13 and 14, 2014. Leading up to this grand event, the preppites took part in various activities to celebrate their achievements. The foot-tapping rhythm of Lavani and the energetic Gatka dance enthralled the parents who were proud to see their little ones dancing to the beats in perfect synchronisation. The parents paid glowing tributes to the school for grooming their little ones in the best possible manner. The chief guests for the day were B.K. Subodh Singh, senior general manager, Apollo Hospital, and Sangita Gosain, a reader in Odissi Vocal Music at Utkal University of Culture.

Singh emphasised on discipline and positive attitude of parents and teachers in grooming a child', while Gosain appreciated the school for becoming a role model in town.
Holi celebrations
Students of DAV School, Chandrasekharpur, presented an array of cultural activities on the eve of Holi on March 15. The colourful presentation was an attempt to spread the message of love. The students smeared colours on each other. The teachers explained to the students the essence of the festival and also guided them how to use the colours in a safe way without harming others. The use of natural colours among the students was also encouraged.
Annual day
Students of Rabindra Vidya Niketan presented a vibrant cultural programme as part of the school’s annual day celebration on March 18.The students danced to delightful songs spreading the message of conservation of nature and preservation of cultural heritage. Students who excelled in various events during the last academic year were awarded on the occasion. Professor B.K. Mishra, director of the Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology, Bhubaneswar, and Madan Mohan Mohanty, a renowned teacher, were guests of honour.
In their address to the parents, the guests emphasised on the importance of early childhood development and appealed the parents to help and support the school for laying a strong foundation for the students.
Wonderful performance
Little kids of the Wonderland School at Sunderpada presented a lovely performance of dance and songs during their 3rd annual day celebrations on March 16. An art and fancy dress competition was also organised to mark the occasion.
Chief guest of the event Swami Adytananda from Ramakrishna Mission spoke about education and spirituality and guided the parents on how to instill humanity in their kids. Prizes were also distributed to meritorious students on the occasion.
Award ceremony
The final results of the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana, a prestigious national-level examination conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and the department of science and technology, have been published. A total of 60 students from various schools of the state have been qualified for the programme. The meritorious students will be felicitated at a special event. This will help students while applying for institutes of higher learning under the department.
