Cuttack, Nov. 6: Ravenshaw University will host an international conference on neuroscience and a national seminar on re-mapping development in India.
The international conference on neurosciences is being organised by the department of zoology on November 9, while the varsity economics department will host the two-day national seminar on November 13.
Around 200 delegates and more than 50 eminent neurobiologists and neuroscientists from USA, Australia, Canada, Japan and Europe will attend the conference on neuroscience.
The experts will deliberate on brain plasticity and neurological disorders.
“The objective of the conference is exchanging ideas for researchers and academics and paving new way for new frontiers in neurobiology research,” said Ravenshaw vice-chancellor B.C. Tripathy.
Tripathy said the conference would be helpful in understanding the complexity of the human brain.
The conference on neurobiology aims to find cure for diseases and discuss advances in fundamental neuroscience research and its clinical application.
The national seminar on the country’s development will focus on various aspects including economic development, proliferation of money, technology, education, monetary and foreign policies and financial reforms.
The conference is a part of an initiative searching for a viable solution beyond the prevailing framework of values, ideas, strategies and policies.
The two-day seminar will provide a platform to academics, activists and researchers from across the country to discuss and debate on the challenges of development process.
Besides, various papers on structural transformation, equality and human development, sustainable livelihood, environment and natural resource management will be also presented, said organising secretary Dharmabrata Mohapatra.
