Bhubaneswar, Oct. 7: A 37-year-old meat-seller was allegedly hacked to death by his elder brother at Kanan Vihar this afternoon.
Police arrested the accused when he was trying to flee from the spot. Although the cops are investigating several angles to the murder, preliminary investigation revealed that it could have been fallout of business dispute between the two brothers. An eyewitness said Krutibas Behera, 45, chased Artabandhu and hacked him several times with a meat cleaver in his chicken shop on the main road around 1.30pm.
Artabandhu suffered deep injuries on his body and writhed in pain for about half-an-hour on the ground as other shopkeepers were scared of rescuing him. Later, he succumbed to the injuries on his way to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
