Bhubaneswar: Police on Monday busted a gang of burglars and arrested three persons in connection with a series of loot cases at Chandaka in February.

The police said the gang members used mark the houses on the pretext of selling bed sheets and other household articles before striking at a later date.

The cops have also seized two motorcycles, stolen gold ornaments and sharp weap-ons from the accused - Balia Das, 27, Jagannath Das, 32, and Bijay Das, 22.

The gang of seven had struck two houses at Chandaka on February 12 and also attempted an unsuccessful burglary at Barang the following day. The gang members had also assaulted the family members when they resisted.

"The gang targeted isolated houses. They used crowbars to break down the doors," said a police officer.
