Live wire kills farmer
Bhubaneswar: A 55-year-old farm labourer was electrocuted when he came in contact with a live wire at a village in Jajpur district on Sunday. Ananda Behera, the daily wage earner of Routarapur village located in Dharmasala police station limits, was electrocuted when he came in contact with the snapped live wire lying on the field, police said. On being informed, the police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem. A case of unnatural death has been registered and further investigation is on, the police said.
Puri temple
Puri: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration has gone back on its decision to ban the sale of tanka torani (a drink made from mahaprasad) at Anand Bazar inside the shrine in Puri. This comes a day after the temple administration decided to put restrictions on the sale of the drink on Saturday. The administration has decided to go for periodic checks to monitor the quality of the drink. The decision was taken at a meeting on Sunday.
Murder
Bhubaneswar: A youth killed his own maternal uncle over property dispute at Salepur in Cuttack on Sunday. The maternal grandfather and two aunts of the accused were also injured in the attack. According to reports, the accused attacked the family members with a crowbar following heated arguments.

Bear attack
Bhubaneswar: Two persons were injured by a wild bear that strayed into a village in Ganjam district on Sunday. The injured were admitted to MKCG Medical College Hospital and their condition is said to be serious. The bear had strayed into Ratanapur village along with its three cubs and the villagers were trying to drive away them.
