Bhubaneswar, Nov. 27: Thirty-five aspiring designers from Odisha Institute of Interior and Fashion Technology finally saw their dreams turning into reality on Saturday as models displayed their years of hard work at an event titled Destination Odisha.
The event, organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry, had a plethora programmes that kept the audience amused in between the fashion shows. The show began with Sapphire, a Calcutta-based dance troupe, who performed a fusion of Odissi and contemporary dance. After the recital, it was the turn for a music band. Their different vocal sounds mesmerised the audience.
Designers from Bhubaneswar and Jamshedpur let out their bundle of talent and creativity in 12 sequences. Each sequence was replete with innovative hand works and embellishments. From modern Western wear, winter collection, office wear to traditional Sambalpuri casuals and periodic attires — the designers displayed the variations in the show. Alumuni of the institute, Sashikant Pandey and Anjana Seth, also showcased their collection at the event.
