Bhubaneswar, June 1: Panic gripped areas under Laxmisagar police station as a youth sustained injuries after two persons attacked him at Old Station Bazaar in the evening.
In two separate incidents, Laxmisagar police had last night arrested one person who used to loot people coming to the railway station. Two other youths were also arrested by the Laxmisagar police for stealing iron rods from a shop.
This evening, two youths approached Rajeev Thakur, a 28-year-old businessman, when he was standing in front of his newly opened beauty parlour near the Old Station Bazaar. They started arguing with him over business matters. Suddenly, one of them chased Rajeev with a knife.
“I started running as they chased me. I cried for help. They stabbed me with a knife. Later, as people started gathering at the spot, they left the place,” said Rajeev, adding that they attacked him for issues related to business rivalry.
He alleged that he had earlier got threat calls not to open the parlour here, which he head opened 15 days ago.
Local residents soon called the police and rushed him to hospital. The local residents could not, however, get hold of the attackers.
