Flag meet

BJEM School recently hosted a sensitisation programme on India’s flag code. Initiated by Khadi Board and Village Industries, Odisha, the event aimed to sensitise schoolchildren about the characteristic features of the flag and the rules and practices to be followed while hoisting it. Board chairperson Tejeswar Parida highlighted the features of the Tricolour.

Book reading

DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur, conducted a series of activities to commemorate National Book Week. Eminent writer and director of vigilance Debasis Panigrahi took part as chief guest in the Meet the Author programme and emphasised on the inevitability of reading for creative pursuits and all-round growth of students. Principal K.C. Satapathy highlighted the importance of reading.

Shilpi Divas

Paintings of around 1,900 children from 12 countries will be displayed at Shilpi Divas — an art exhibition at Modern Art Gallery in Bhubaneswar from Friday. Thirteen children will be awarded in five categories. Besides, paintings of 300 artists will be on display at an art exhibition.

Creative kids

A three-day festival, Kasturi, showcased the creativity of children with disabilities to commemorate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Participants from across Odisha took part. Kasturi provided the children with an opportunity to learn and express themselves creatively. Creative learning corners for puppet-making, balloon craft and flower craft were also organised.

Budding scientists

Two projects made by students of DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur, have been selected by Niti Aayog among 100 projects from across India for a special exhibition on December 15 in New Delhi. Prisita Preetam, Palavi Priyadarshini and Arpita Mohanty’s project on Aadhaar-linked dustbin and Amit Baishnab, Nihar Modi and Gyanig Kumar’s project on V-bikes in waste management and smart mobility categories were selected.

These projects were designed in a nation-wide marathon campaign through Atal Tinkering Laboratories. The six best projects will be awarded with scholarships and collaborations till completion of the research. The school authorities congratulated the scientists and wished them well.

Annual day

St Arnold’s School, Jhartarang, recently celebrated its 10th annual day.

Principal Francis Jos delivered the welcome address and presented a video on the school’s growth and achievements. School manager and founder-visionary K.C.
