Bhubaneswar, March 20: Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar, has been successful in recording 100 per cent placement for its graduating batch.
Xuberence, the placement process of the B-school, saw 179 students of the postgraduate diploma in management (PGDM) programme landing jobs in over 70 companies.
About 23 per cent students were offered placements from organisations where they had done their summer internship.
While the highest domestic salary stood at a whopping Rs 17.25 lakh per annum, the average annual salary offered was Rs 11.81 lakh.
Students were offered profiles in corporate finance, equity research, investment banking, marketing, sales and distribution, supply chain management, business consulting, IT consulting and business development.
While 23 per cent of the students forayed into consulting, 22 per cent were absorbed in marketing jobs.
Yet another 23 per cent were absorbed in the systems sector while the remaining students were absorbed in areas of finance, general management, strategy and operations.
Three students received international offers with an annual package of $69,000 (approximately Rs 35 lakh).
In a refreshing trend, 20 rural management students from the institute chose government jobs. The highest domestic salary offered for this was Rs 9.65 lakh.
Some others were offered jobs in consultancy, sales, marketing, commodity training, procurement and supply chain management, branding and advertising, banking and financial services and corporate social responsibility.
