
JEE (Main)
DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur, recorded the highest number of qualified students for the JEE (Main) 2018. The 152 students who qualified the exam from the school will be eligible to appear in the JEE (Advanced) on May 20. Sixteen of those students secured more than 200 marks and ranked with the top 5,000. Spandan Senapati, with 307 marks, was the school topper at 161.
Foundation day
DAV Public School, Pokhariput, celebrated its 27th foundation day with a blood donation camp where 76 units of blood was collected. Students, and teachers who have been teaching for the past 25 years, were felicitated on the occasion. The students also presented a cultural programme in front of chief guest Subas Pani, former chief secretary of the state government.
Success story
Students of SAI International School, Bhubaneswar, have excelled in various competitive examinations recently. Forty-three students qualified for the JEE (Advanced), while 12 qualified for the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana, a scholarship funded by the Centre's department of science and technology and administered by the Indian Institute of Science. They are now eligible to receive scholarship from the Centre till completing their higher education. Also, 17 students were selected for the second stage of the National Talent Search Examination.
Topper’s guidance
The present generation of students should not halt at temporary success or failure that would distract them from achieving their ultimate goal. On the other hand, self-confidence and perseverance will bring them their desired success, said Subhankar Mahapatra, the state topper in UPSC exam from Odisha with an all-India rank of 46. The DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur, alumnus topped the Class-X CBSE examination in 2006. Emphasising on quality over quantity in all aspects, he advised the students to be service orientated to harvest the real fruit of education in their lives.
Interactive session
A student-teacher-parent interaction was held by MacMillan Smart Classes, a coaching institute at Khariar. Jagada Nanda Mund, a teacher from Khariar, was the speaker on the occasion. Speaking about education pedagogy and student psychology, Mund said the students needed to enhance their knowledge.
Award night
The DAV School of Business Management held its annual award ceremony to encourage budding managers for their performances. Nabard chief general manager K.C. Panigrahi, who was the chief guest, advised the students to boost their soft skills alongside hard skills to deal with the competitive world.
