Cuttack, April 6: Orissa High Court today refused to take up for hearing a petition seeking its intervention against levy of entry fee of Rs 25 for devotees to gain access near the gate of the sanctum sanctorum of Jagannath temple in Puri.
The court said the petition filed by way of a public interest litigation (PIL) did not confirm to the Orissa High Court Public Interest Litigation Rules, 2010.
Chief convener of Sri Jagannath Sena Priyadarshan Patnaik had filed the PIL seeking quashing of the order of Jagannath temple administration for enhancement of the entry fee from March 21.
