Baripada, Sept. 14: An investor and an aide were arrested today on charges of abducting an employee of a money deposit collection company. The investor was allegedly duped of Rs 50,000 by a ponzy firm in which the abducted employee was working.

Police said Arun Patra, 28, of Belapal village, kidnapped Gagan Behera, 46, who was working with Zodiac Foundation, a money collection deposit company after the latter refused to return Rs 50,000 invested by Patra in 2012.

“Patra had invested the money in the Baripada office of the ponzy company in 2012. The company was shut down last year after the money deposit scam was unearthed. However, Patra had been demanding the money from Behera as he was the employee of the company,” said a police official.
