Bhubaneswar, Dec. 30: Students who are pursuing BTech at the IIT-Bhubaneswar can use the institute's infrastructure for up to two years after the completion of their degree course if they want to pursue research work.

Announcing this while speaking on the sidelines of a one-day symposium on Innovation in Materials for Renewable Energy Applications today, institute director R.V. Raja Kumar said that the students would not have to enrol themselves into any particular coursework for availing it's infrastructure, such as library, laboratory or other research facilities.

The IIT-Bhubaneswar wants to encourage more students to pursue "meaningful research". For this, the institute wants to provide them with an opportunity to use its state-of-the-art facilities where they can materialize their ideas.

"We will allow graduates to use the institute's facilities from the next academic year. Initially, we will allow students only from IIT-Bhubaneswar, while later we plan to allow students from other IITs as well. We also have plans to include students from local institutes," said Raja Kumar.
