Berhampur, Feb. 16: A three-member team today visited the proposed temporary campus of the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER)-Odisha.
S.V. Satyam Murty, the registrar of IISER-Bhopal, led the team that visited the proposed the Industrial Training Institute, Berhampur, from where the IISER’s temporary campus would operate. They also checked a site at Laudigaon where the permanent campus of the institute will come up.
“We have come here to check the infrastructure before the regular classes commence from the temporary campus from July. We will give our suggestions to the Union ministry of human resource development,” said Murty.
On January 8, a central team visited Ganjam and chose Laudigaon as the site for the institute’s permanent campus.
The residential institute will carry out researches in frontier areas of science and provide science education at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels.
