In the journey of life, we come to know about many great people.

I have also been profoundly influenced by the life of one such great man. The more I think about his life, the greater becomes my curiosity to know him and be like him. His tendency to be truthful and upright influences me so much that whenever I am asked about my strengths, my simple reply is “being truthful”. And the great personality whose image first comes to my mind is none other than our beloved Mahatma Gandhi.

Some of his noble characteristics, which endeared him to me are his strong will and self-sacrifice. He was a true patriot to the core and his Satyagraha was an epitome of non-violence and peace — a very novel way of protest. Such a leader is not born every day. He was rightly acclaimed as the greatest person of the millennium. His life and struggle not only inspire me, but also the generations around the globe.
