Bhubaneswar: The state government on Thursday said it was concerned about the demands of the agitating teachers and was taking steps to dispose of the affidavits of the teachers and employees of the degree colleges.

A senior official said that 733 affidavits have already been received from the employees according to the grant-in-order from Plus Three degree colleges of 662 and 488 category colleges. The staff are demanding grant-in-aid under the Grant-in-Aid Order, 2017.

Out of the 733 affidavits, 373 are from teaching and 360 from non-teaching staff.

"Release orders have been issued in respect of 47 employees of various non-government colleges," said the official. "Section officers... have been asked to ensure that at least 50 post approval orders are leased in respect of their section every day."
