Bhubaneswar, Dec. 28: The sub-divisional judicial magistrate today allowed the Crime Branch to take into remand the chairman of Hi-Tech Group, Tirupati Panigrahi, and two other directors of the company for two days.

Panigrahi and his relatives, Tirupati Choudhury and Madhusudan Panigrahi, have been in judicial custody for 12 days after they were arrested on charges of cheating and threatening. Additional director-general of police, Crime Branch, B.K. Sharma said that following Panigrahi’s arrest, many people had brought fresh charges against his companies. He said the three would be taken on remand from tomorrow.
