Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths on Saturday arrested an assistant project manager of the Odisha State Police Housing and Welfare Corporation Ltd for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Bikram Keshari Malla was arrested after the sleuths discovered that he possessed assets of Rs 1.21 crore, over 302 per cent of his known sources of income.
The corporation is a state government undertaking. The sleuths raided Malla's three-storey home at Lingaraj Vihar here, a two-storey building in Rayagada, a house at his native Malikeswarpur village in Kendrapara, a chamber and a rented house of a relative here in March 2017, sources said.
A case was registered against him for possession of assets that he could not account for and he was arrested. He was produced in a vigilance court that remanded him to custody till May 4. PTI
