Balasore, June 5: Girls have outperformed boys in the degree examinations of Fakir Mohan (Autonomous) College here. The results were published on Saturday.
The overall pass percentage stands at 95.58. Of the 546 students, who had appeared for the exams, 520 have successfully cleared it.
Fifty out of 59 students have passed the exams of the three-year Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) course. Sanchaita Samanta of mathematics department has bagged the best graduate honour.
In other subjects too, girls have performed better than boys. In arts stream, girls who performed exceptionally well are Debasmita Shee (economics), Anasuya Bhoi (education), Babli Das (English), Sujata Majhi (history), Barsha Barnali Patra (Oriya), Reshma Khatun (philosophy), Pushpalata Parida (mathematics), Madhusmita Mohanty (political science), Subhashree Maharana (Sanskrit), Aisorya Patra (Hindi), Prajna Paramita Majhi (psychology), Sumana Paul (sociology), Sagufa Khanam (Urdu).
In commerce, Pooja Modi (accounts and commerce), Priyanka Mohanty (banking and insurance) and Menka Mahakud (marketing) have bagged the top honours.
Girls who have fared well in the science subjects are Samikhya Parida (botany), Seemani Rout (computer science) and Sanchaita Samanta (mathematics).
Boys who have made it to the top are Satyabrata Mohanty (chemistry), Jagannath Jena (physics) and Sandeep Dey (zoology) and Bijaynanda Sahoo (business administration).
