Youngsters take part in a workshop on robotics at Raahgiri in Bhubaneswar on Sunday.
The event titled 'Fun with Robo' was hosted by city-based organisation SakRobotix.
A number of children from the local slums also took part in the event.
"I got to know about sensors and programming at the workshop. "These days, Robotics could be taken up as a specialised career in science research and engineering. Here we tried to garner that interest among the youngsters," said Sakyasingha Mahapatra, a young entrepreneur who gave up his job to start the venture.Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena requested both Papu and the 'Kansa' actor to make rounds at the Raahgiri venue and let the people be aware of the cleanliness components of the city. While the event was conducted near the stage at Master Canteen Square, he said that a space near children's activity area of Raahgiri would have gathered more crowds.Tribal heritage and marital art tradition of the state was also a highlight at the event. Members of Bharat Scouts and Guides displayed the traditional martial art of the state - Paika Akhada - while a tribal art camp witnessed participation from people of various age groups. A poetry recital session by famous Kosali poet Haldhar Nag, who has been selected for the Padma Shri award this year, was also held.
"I never got a chance to read Kosali literature before. It was wonderful to hear it from a popular poet such as Nag. He was quite charming," said Sushanti Mishra, a homemaker.
Rock band Yuva also performed at the event along with artists from Ama Kalakar and rapper Rahul Dhal Praharaj. Gateball along with Aerobics and Zumba also were in demand. Text by Anwesha Ambaly
