Jajpur: A 20-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped by four men at Binjharpur area in the district.

The woman alleged that she was held captive and four men drugged and gang-raped her for 12 days at various locations, police said.

While one of the accused, Guria Sethy of Kayana village in the district, was arrested on Thursday, three others are still at large. The police said she had an affair with Gopinath Behera, who had sexual relation with her on the pretext of marriage. Her relative Guria, a distant relative of the woman, had mediated the marriage.

Behera called the woman to get married at a temple in Jajpur on June 7, but she took her to a house and raped her.

"Later, Guria joined him and she was gang-raped for two days," said Binjharpur police station inspector-in-charge S.B. Das. She was then taken to Bhubaneswar where two others - Kabula Malik and Saroj - also raped her.

"They held captive of the woman for ten days there and gang raped her after drugging the victim," police said.

She managed to escape on Tuesday evening and informed her parents on phone, the police said.She was rescued from a place in Bhubaneswar and taken to a hospital. On Wednesday, the police were informed about the incident.
