Bhawanipatna: At least 19 students of a government-run residential school for tribal and scheduled caste children at Kataghara village under Thuamalrampur block of Kalahandi district had to be hospitalised following food poisoning.

The students developed nausea and fell sick after eating the food served at the school hostel. Later, they were shifted to government-run hospital where they are now stated to be recovering. "It's a case of food poisoning. The children might have taken contaminated food," said an official at the hospital.

He said: "The sick students have already been administered intro-venous fluid and they are now out of danger."

Girl rescued

A Class IX girl student, who was allegedly kidnapped by a man from Jaleswar, is rescued. The statement of the victim is recorded, said police.
