Focus on career development

The seventh batch of postgraduate diploma in management commenced at International Management Institute (IMI), Bhubaneswar. The inauguration ceremony was held on the IMI campus in presence of the director of the institute, Ramesh Behl, faculty members, students and parents. Students from various backgrounds and locations have enrolled for the two-year residential programme.

The seventh batch of postgraduate diploma in management commenced at International Management Institute (IMI), Bhubaneswar. The inauguration ceremony was held on the IMI campus in presence of the director of the institute, Ramesh Behl, faculty members, students and parents. Students from various backgrounds and locations have enrolled for the two-year residential programme. Behl, in his inaugural address, said a positive attitude and ethical understanding helps to earn recognition. All faculty members of the institute shared their thoughts on refresher courses in various management specialities.

Positive change 

The Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences has recently appointed Sadhana Kinnar, a transgender, as the social development officer of the institute. Sadhana, who was earlier known as Sadhana Mishra, hails from Keonjhar town. 

She holds a master’s degree in social work and business administration. Founder of the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology and the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences, Achyuta Samanta, said the appointment of Sadhana Kinnar would contribute to a change in the mindset of society at large towards transgender persons and empower them. 

Eviction drive 

Berhampur University has launched a drive to identify and reclaim land that has been encroached upon on the Bhanja Vihar campus of the varsity. 

About 39 acres of the university’s 250 acres have been encroached by various organisations and individuals. 

The matter came to light when varsity authorities tried to demarcate the boundary of its campus.  

The government has sanctioned Rs 1.60 crore for construction of the boundary wall of the university and the repair of a portion of the wall. 

Green move

Students of BJB Autonomous College recently organised a massive plantation programme and a special camp. About a hundred of boys and girls planted saplings on the main campus of the  college. Besides, a meeting was held with college principal Mohammed Nawaz Hassan. 

The guest at the meeting spoke about planting trees and saving the earth from global warming.

Position holders

Two students of DAV School of Business Management (DSBM), Bhubaneswar, have secured positions in the Utkal University’s top ten ranks in BCom. Subhasmita Nayak and Nitasha Nayak scored 75.1 per cent and 70.9 per cent in the Plus Three annual examinations, respectively. Principal of DSBM congratulated the students, parents and faculty members.
