Cuttack, Aug. 31: Tender dispute was behind the firing incident, in which a contractor and his associate were injured on August 22.

Police have arrested four persons allegedly involved in the incident. The contractor, Sidharth Shankar Nayak, 25, of Alisha Bazar and Kirti Sagar Swain of Niali were injured in the firing.

Chauliaganj police said the goons had fired at Sidharth and Kirti to terrorise them, so that they withdrew their tender for a contract work awarded to them for construction of a road at Bayalish mouza at a cost of Rs 20 lakh.

The accused have been identified as Santosh Sahu, 24, Kabindra Dhal, 29, Subash Parida, 21, and Nayana Mohanty, 36, of Chauliaganj.
