Cuttack, March 18: Police today arrested Sanjay Kumar Sahoo alias Bhajana, 39, for his alleged involvement in a series of extortion and tender fixing cases.

Bhajana was arrested from Thatari Sahi within the limits Chauliaganj police station.

Deputy commissioner of police Sanjiv Arora said that more than 12 cases of extortion, firing and tender fixing have been registered against Bhajana.

He was the key accused in the alleged kidnapping and firing at two contractors in August 2013.

Earlier, nine persons were arrested in connection with case.
