Bhubaneswar,May 27: Delay in uploading notes on the Biju Patnaik University of Technology website has irked the students.

The notes were supposed to be uploaded by the first week of May. "We have been waiting for them for over a year and nothing has been uploaded yet," said Sukant Jena, a third-year student of the varsity.

"I had planned to use it for my revisions during the vacation. But, they did not upload it," said Prakruti, another student.

The authorities assured that digital lectures on 75 subjects have already been prepared by the Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, Burla, and would be uploaded soon. "The digitised notes on 30 subjects have also been prepared," said a varsity official.

The notes will be posted on the website by the first week of June. The lecture notes for many other subjects such as metallurgy, electrical engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, IT, MCA, electronics and telecommunications, physics, mathematics, architecture, chemical engineering and biotechnology are in the advanced stage of preparation, the official said.

Considering the number of of colleges and disciplines under the varsity, the authorities have entrusted each domain to different coordinators. They will facilitate and coordinate with individual subject groups, assign subject coordinators and supervise the preparation of digitalised lecture notes in their individual domains," said a technical education department official.

L. N. Panda, professor of mechanical engineering in College of Engineering and Technology, has been appointed as the nodal officer coordinating the digitalisation of lecture notes.
