Cuttack, July 24: The Odisha Industries Association and the municipal corporation are at loggerheads over the dengue outbreak at Jagatpur.

Officials of Jagatpur Industrial Estate today alleged that the civic body was solely responsible for the dengue outbreak here.

The association has also condemned the Cuttack Municipal Corporation for closing down several industrial units in the last two weeks on the charge of not maintaining sanitation and allowing water to accumulate.

The association claimed that a crackdown on industrial units had adversely affected business and allowing water to accumulate<>.

"CMC is arbitrarily taking action against the industrial units ," said president of Jagatpur Industrial Association Abani Kanungo.

But, CMC officials claimed that the industry association had not taken any steps to destruct possible dengue mosquito-breeding sites despite several requests. "It is the responsibility of each industrial unit to keep their premises clean," said municipal commissioner Gyana Das.
