Bhubaneswar, Oct. 28: The district and sessions court, Khurda, today reserved its verdict on the plea of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to take money deposit collection company Seashore’s chief Prashant Dash on remand.

The ED had sought a 14-day remand of Dash to trace the company’s money trail.

On October 24, the chief judicial magistrate’s court in Jeypore allowed Dash to be produced in Khurda district and sessions court. Dash was brought here from Jeypore this morning.

Sources said the ED would try to find out the exact amount of money collected and invested in other companies floated by Seashore.

The company had offered 24 per cent interest per annum to the investors against their deposits, which was nearly three times the interest offered by nationalised banks.

Dash today denied any political links. “I will fully co-operate with the investigation,” he said.

The crime branch had seized 203 acres of land belonging to Seashore at 17 places.

The investigating agency had also found several luxury cars, 212 gold bars and two quintals of silver coins weighing 100 grams each.

Saradha bosses

The court of special chief judicial magistrate, CBI, has asked the Bhubaneswar deputy commissioner of police to produce the chief of Saradha Group, Sudipto Sen, and its director Debjani before it on November 10.

Khirod in court

The crime branch today produced Khirod Mallick, brother of former minister and BJD MLA Pramila Mallick, in a local court in Berhampur. Yesterday, the police arrested Khirod from Sambalpur for allegedly duping depositors of over Rs 5 crore through his Ponzi firm.
