Bhubaneswar, Aug. 29: Suspense thrillers are rare in the Oriya film industry but the latest film by directors Manoranjan Pal and Biswambar Das Asibu Kebe Saji Mo Rani is a mystifying romantic thriller.
The script of the film is similar to the 60s Bollywood super hit Mera Saaya.
In the film the heroine Khushi plays a double role and her husband, played by Akash, is confused about her real identity. The flow of the film would also be moving back and forth, with flashback intertwined with present situation, says co-producer Anurag Sahu.
“The film starts in the present, when the hero is taken aback with his wife behaving rudely with him all of a sudden, as the girl he loved was completely different. Then we see how the past keeps haunting time and again in the film,” explains Sahu.
Mumbai girl Khushi is all set to make her debut in the Oriya film industry with this movie. “It was a great experience to play double roles as both the characters had completely different shades. From the way I carry myself to my attitude, one will find everything to be unique,” she says.
Veteran scriptwriter Chaitanya Behera, who has included a lot of twists and turns in the movie, has written the story.
The film has mishmash of different genres and thus everyone will cherish something about it believes the director duo.
“There is family drama, romance and suspense woven into the film, therefore we expect it to reach all segments of audience,” says Pal. While Das says that since the story shows typical Oriya lifestyle and is set in rural as well as urban locations it will have a great appeal for the viewers.
The locations for the film include Jajpur road, Keonjhar, Paradeep and Bhubaneswar.
“The shooting for Asibu Kebe Saji Mo Raani was completed recently and the first stage of editing is on. The movie will be released on Diwali,” says producer Sahu.
The music for the film has been composed by Gagan Bihari, while playback singers including big names such as Udit Narayan, Suresh Wadekar, Md Aziz, Abhijit , Ira Mohanty, Shailabhama , Sadhana Sargam and others. Veteran actors Mihir Das, Bina Moharana, Raimohan and Debu Bose will also be seen in the film.
