Cub's first day out at Nandankanan

Nadankanan zoo authorities on Wednesday released the picture of a female tiger cub that was born on January 12. Six-year-old tigress Ankita had given birth to two cubs, but one died the following day after the mother rejected her. A zoo official said the cub was being hand-reared and fed dog milk. “The cub is healthy. We are continuously monitoring her health and weight. She weighed 1,150gm when it was separated from the mother. She now weighs more than 1,900gm,” said the official.
