Bhubaneswar, April 27: Police today traced Babula Panda, the grandson of late freedom fighter Laxmi Indira Panda, who had gone missing after being felicitated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 16, from a private hospital here.

The 28-year-old was traced at the hospital where he was undergoing treatment for kidney-related problems. Hospital sources said he required immediate dialysis. He was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital late in the evening.

Police commissioner Y.B. Khurania said: "He was traced from Mancheswar in a critical condition. We received a tip-off on his whereabouts over phone. As his condition was critical, we transferred him to SCB."

Khurania said they would launch a probe to know how Babula had gone missing.

Babula had come from Jeypore with his parents. Following the ceremony, they had gone to the railway station to catch a return train to Jeypore. Both Babula and his mother Sujata had gone missing from there. Chief minister Naveen Patnaik had asked the police to find him at the earliest.
