Balangir: Vigilance police have submitted its final charge sheet in the multicrore revenue inspector and amin recruitment scam in Balangir in the court of the special vigilance judge here.
In the charge sheet, nine government officials, including former collector of Balangir Debaraj Mishra, have been named as the prime accused in the case.
After examining the charge sheet, the special vigilance judge of Balangir Debasish Nayak on Saturday issued a non-bailable warrant against 41 persons, including five government officials and 36 revenue inspectors and amins who were dismissed from service after the government cancelled their recruitment in 2016.
Mishra and head clerk of the collectorate Niranjan Tripathy are out on bail. Former deputy collector Anita Panda and the then personal security officer (PSO) of the district collector Arabinda Khamari are on interim bail.
Sudhir Sandh, a candidate who appeared for the test for amin's post, said after the verdict of the apex court and submission of final charge sheet, the issue had come to a logical end.
On December 17, 2011, the office of the collector here had issued an advertisement inviting applications from suitable candidates, who were residents of the district, for a competitive examination for recruitment to the post of revenue inspectors, assistant revenue inspectors and amins. The advertisement had put the number of vacant posts at 54. Later, the number increased to 63, which was published in newspapers. Just five days before the written examination, the number of vacant posts was increased to 166.
