
Bhubaneswar, June 3: Several schools in the twin cities have achieved a 100 per cent success rate in the much-awaited Class X examination, results of which were announced by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) this evening.
The Bhubaneswar region registered a pass percentage of 92.15. The region includes Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Bengal.
Of around 73,000 students who appeared for the CBSE Class X exam, 67,200 students have passed. In Odisha, around 23,080 students took the exams.
Students who appeared for the exams across the state were very apprehensive about the results after the fiasco in Class XII results in Odisha that led to protests in the city.
The Kendriya Vidyalayas in the twin cities have also produced good results this year.
The success of the BJEM School students is overwhelming with 100 per cent success. Around 244 students had appeared for the exam out of which 104 students secured 10 CGPA.
DAV Public School Unit-VIII shone with a record 99.26 per cent first class in the examination. Around 272 students have passed and 102 students have secured CGPA 10.
Akanksha Mohapatra, a student who secured 98 CGPA, said: "I am really happy. I was really worried after what happened to the students of Class XII. Thank God we were saved."
SAI International School set a new record with 47 per cent of its students securing 10 CGPA and 100 per cent first division in the CBSE Class X examination.
Students who had appeared for the examination came out with flying colours. Out of them, 94.7 per cent secured more than 75 per cent of marks and 66 per cent of students secured above 90 per cent marks.
A wave of jubilation swept the school as students and teachers celebrated the success along with school staff, parents and others. Teachers congratulated the students and teachers for their hard work and sincerity. Principal Sanduja said: "After a long wait the result of Class X was just like a happy shower on a hot day. It made all children and parents happy and SAI continues its tradition of success."
While Chennai recorded 99.62 per cent pass percentage, Chandigarh registered 94.34, Guwahati 65.53, Delhi 78.09, Patna 95.50, Allahabad 98.23, Dehradun 97.27 and Ajmer 93.30.
