Bhubaneswar, Aug. 8: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today summoned the brother-in-law of food supplies and consumer welfare minister Sanjay Das Burma for his alleged links with the Artha Tatwa group a few days after it interrogated a close aide of school and mass education and industries minister Debi Prasad Mishra.

Sources said that the central investigating agency had asked the brother-in law-of Das Burma, Satyapriya Jaysingh, to appear before it. It is alleged that Jaysingh had received large amounts of money from the AT Group through an advertisement agency of which he is one of the directors.

Sources said CBI had summoned Jaysingh on the basis of the interrogation of AT Group chief Pradeep Sethy recently at the Jharapada jail. The advertisement agency was incorporated in March 2011. Sources said Jaysingh holds the post of director with a number of companies in the construction and hotel businesses.

Earlier, Das Burma had been asked by the CBI to submit documents of all the vehicles owned by him. This followed allegations made by the Congress that the minister had received an SUV from the AT Group. Former Congress legislator Lalatendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra, aka Lulu, had alleged that a Mitsubishi Pajero purchased by AT chief Pradeep Sethy was in the possession of a person called Sanjay Das Burma. Mohapatra had also produced an affidavit submitted by the CBI before Orissa High Court to substantiate his claim. However, Das Burma vehemently denied the allegations and was later asked by the CBI to produce documents of all his vehicles.

On the other hand, Dillip Mishra, close aide of Debi Prasad Mishra who was interrogated by the CBI on Friday, today sought time from the central agency requesting it to delay his appearance by a week. Though Mishra was asked to appear before CBI today, his lawyer today appeared at the CBI office asking for seven days' time on health grounds. Mishra was interrogated for several hours for his alleged links with another Ponzi firm, Seashore.

In a related incident, around 20 investors from Bharuch in Gujarat duped by Ponzi firm Oscar Group today staged a demonstration in front of the Economic Offence Wing of state crime branch in the state capital demanding immediate refund of their money. The agitators also met the Justice Madan Mohan Das Commission for refund of their money.

"We have already submitted documents to the Odisha crime branch relating to investments of worth Rs 5 crore through five branch offices in Bharuch. We cannot stay in Odisha for long to pursue our demands as we come from another state. The investigating agency should expedite its probe and refund our money," said a demonstrator from Bharuch.
