Balasore, Oct, 2: A 54-year-old woman traffic home guard sustained injuries after she was hit by a car at Station Square today.

The accused, Nitun Saha, 40, jumped a signal despite being asked by the home guard, Snehalata Parida, to stop and eventually hit her.

Saha was rushed to district headquarters hospital by other cops and local residents.

The victim sustained injuries on her head and face and also lost a tooth in the mishap, said an eyewitness.

Saha is in police custody, said inspector in charge of Sahadevkhunta police station Pragyan Mohanty.
