River protest

Sambalpur: The Biju Mahila Janata Dal (BMJD) took out a kalash yatra over the controversial Mahanadi dam issue at Jharsuguda on Sunday. The rally that started from Manmohan ME School and culminated at Gandhi Chhak.

Jagatsinghpur: Unidentified criminals vandalised a bust of  Gopabandhu Das at a government high school in Naharana village within Balikuda police limits in Jagatsnghpur. The criminals decapitated the bust of Das, one of the founders of modern Odisha, leading to tension in the area. The local residents also staged a roadblock in protest.
