Cyclone shelters

Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday dedicated 100 multi-purpose shelter houses to the people of the state for use during floods and cyclones. 

“The state government is well prepared to face natural calamities. Our goal is to ensure zero casualty,” Naveen said after inaugurating the shelter houses built across 17 districts of the state.   

Hotels closed

Puri: As many as 20 hotels in the city were closed on Friday following the orders of Odisha State Pollution Control Board for failing to adhere to pollution norms. The district administration had asked the guests to vacate the hotels. 

Bargarh heist 

Sambalpur: As many as eight armed persons robbed jewellery worth more than Rs 50 lakh and cash around Rs 16 lakh from State Bank of India, Ruchida branch in Ambabhona police station limits in Bargarh district on Friday.
