Nagada visit
Bhubaneswar: A five-member team of the Union health ministry will visit Nagada village in Jajpur district on Tuesday to take stock of the situation. The visit follows the death of 18 children due to malnutrition in the past three months. According to sources, the team will hold discussions with the local authorities after returning from Nagada.
Cong protest
Bhubaneswar: The Congress on Monday took out a rally to protest against the Bhuasuni dumping row. Party workers took out a bike rally from Congress Bhavan to the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation office. Villagers of Daruthenga, however, have given the civic body a two-day deadline to shift the dumping ground to nearby Tulsadeipur.
Cracker blast
Balangir: A woman was killed and four others, including three women, suffered injuries in an explosion that occurred at an illegal cracker factory at Bhalera village under Puintala block of the district on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Santoshini Naik, 25.
New editions
Bhubaneswar: The special editions of Utkal Prasang and Odisha Review were released during rath yatra. Utkal Prasang comprising 208 pages and Odisha Review with 132 pages showcase the rich cultural heritage of the state. Information and public relations minister minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak and secretary Manoranjan Panigrahi, director Sushil Kumar Das and editor of both the books Lenin Mohanty were present at the launching ceremony.
