Sanitation drive 

Cuttack: The district administration on Sunday decided to intensify the ongoing sanitation drive at Jagatpur from where maximum cases of dengue have been reported in the city. Jagatpur entrepreneurs have been asked to provide 100 personnel to assist the administration in the ongoing sanitation drive. 

Besides, the district administration is also planning to rope in puja committees to create awareness about the mosquito-borne disease.  

Arrested

Bhubaneswar: The Government Railway Police on Sunday arrested a medicine shop owner at Cuttack Road for providing psychotropic drugs to a minor without prescription. Earlier, on Friday, cops arrested the 13-year-old boy for drugging Ishwar Rao at Bhubaneswar railway station by offering him packaged milk leaving Rao in a critical condition. The medicine shop owner has been identified as Gobinda Chandra Samantray.

Youth shot at

Bhubaneswar: Unidentified goons opened fire at a youth at Malipada on the city outskirts on Sunday. The youth, identified as Krupasindhu Baliarsingh, was later rushed to the Capital Hospital with bullet injuries. Though the exact cause of the crime is yet to be ascertained, cops suspect past rivalry behind the incident.

Three injured

Bhubaneswar: Three youths sustained injuries in a group clash in Saheed Nagar on Sunday evening. The injured were rushed to the Capital Hospital. They were later referred to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. Cops suspect past rivalry behind the incident.
