Awas Yojana

Bhubaneswar: The state’s 110 urban local bodies have been brought under Odisha Urban Housing Mission’s Awas Yojana. This was discussed at the state-level sanctioning committee presided by chief secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi. The committee approved the housing projects submitted by 41 cities. 

Smart city

Bhubaneswar: The smart city proposal from Roukela on Saturday received final shape with the state-level high powered committee, headed by chief secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi, giving green signal to the project. The project proposals, worth Rs 2,500 crore, will be sent to the Centre by the end of June. Rourkela will compete with 66 other cities for the smart city tag.

Writer dies

Bhubaneswar: Odia writer Mohapatra Nilamani Sahu died on Saturday following illness. He was 90. Mohapatra has written several short stories, including the short story collection Abhisapta Gandharva for which, he was awarded Sarala Award. He received the Sahitya Akademi Award for Akash Patata.
