Cuttack: Litterateur Annada Prasad Ray died of cardiac arrest at his residence on Tuesday. He was 79. Ray, a former secretary of Pradesh Congress Committee was also the president of Utkal Sahitya Samaj. Some of his literary creations include Muthae Jiban Anjulae Smruti and Balaya.

Bhubaneswar: The  government will hold a two-day conference of district collectors and superintendents of police on June 17-18 to chalk out a strategy to implement development programmes.

Woman killed

Bhubaneswar: A woman was killed at Nimasahi in Cuttack allegedly over a family feud on Tuesday. Two suspects have been held.

Hit and run

Sundergarh: A woman died while her husband suffered serious injuries in an accident today in Sundergarh. An unidentified vehicle hit the bike that the couple was riding and fled.  

Undertrial dies

Bhubaneswar: An undertrial died at the Jharpada Circle Jail here on Tuesday. She has been identified as Bishnupriya Mahakud and was undergoing jail term for a murder case. The cause of the death is yet to be ascertained.

Accident

Baripada: Two persons including a driver of an SUV died on the spot after their vehicle lost control and turned turtle. The deceased have been identified  Alok Das and Mantu Kulid.
