Betting arrest
Berhampur: Police on Sunday arrested one person, identified as E. Suresh Kumar, from a rented house at Pitagundi Sahi for promoting IPL betting and seized Rs 7.51 lakh in cash, 10 mobile phones and gold ornaments worth 175grams. Earlier on May 24, the cops had arrested three persons on similar charges from a rented house in the town. They had also recovered Rs 11.18 lakh, a laptop, data cable and 10 mobile phones.

Rourkela: Students of National Institute of Technology, Rourkela continued their demand for the arrest of the institute's chief security officer Balaram Champatiray for his alleged involvement in sexual harassment of a female security staff member. The students also demanded his immediate dismissal. The authorities had earlier placed him under suspension.
Missing man
Balasore:A letter, allegedly sent by a man missing for nearly 40 years, has ignited hopes in his family that he is alive. The letter, stated to be written from Kangra in Himachal Pradesh, by Gouranga Padhi on Apirl 20, was received by his 56-year-old wife Pati on Saturday. Gouranga was a native of Soro in Balasore district. The letter was sent in an envelope with a recent photograph of himself. In the letter, he has requested his father to get a voter identity card made in his name to facilitate his return.
