Bhubaneswar: Around 46,200 candidates will appear for the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination on Sunday. The examination will be held at 81 centres, including 19 in Bhubaneswar, in 20 towns and cities across the state. The test will be conducted in three sittings -  9am to 11am, 12pm to 1pm and 2.30pm to 3.30pm or 2.30pm to 4.30pm. The examination will have negative marking for wrong answers this time.

Pastor killed

Rourkela: The body of Father Abraham Surin, 55, the pastor of a church near Khunti in Jharkhand, was found near the city railway station on Friday. His body bore multiple injury marks on his throat and stomach. Police found the murder weapon — a chopper with a long handle — lying near the body. Surin, was last seen at Rourkela railway station around 10pm on May 5 when he reached the city from Hatia by train. CCTV footage showed him talking intimately with an unidentified person. Even his family members, who reached the city and took possession of the body, failed to identify the person. The cops have begun probing into the murder and have sent a team to Hatia to investigate.

Gajbhiye

Bhubaneswar: The state home department on Saturday extended the suspension of IPS officer Satish Gajbhiye for another 95 days. This is the third time that the government has extended his suspension period.
