Board exams
Bhubaneswar: The school and mass education department is mulling introduction of board examinations in classes V and VII. Sources said the department had informed the Union human resources ministry seeking permission to introduce the board examinations at primary and upper primary levels. If the proposed system is introduced, schools run by the government will have one-type of question papers.
Animal dead
Bhubaneswar: A black buck died at Nandankanan Zoological Park here on Wednesday. Sources said that the animal died of old age related problems.
Konark fee
Bhubaneswar: The entry fee to Konark Sun Temple has been increased. From May 6, Indian visitors will have to pay Rs 30 instead of Rs 15 and foreign nationals will have to pay Rs 500 instead of Rs 250.
Heatwave
Sambalpur: Heatwave condition continued to prevail in the state with 12 places recording temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius. Sonepur recorded the highest temperature of 44.2 degree Celsius followed by Titlagarh at 43.5 degrees and Angul at 42.7 degrees. Bhubaneswar recorded 41.5 degrees Celsius.
