Aerobic show Accident Encounter Mahakud son Tanker fire

Aerobic show

Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday wrote to defence minister Manohar Parrikar to depute the Surya Kiran team to organise an aerobic show over the Kathajodi riverbed as part of Biju Patnaik’s birth centenary programme. 

Accident

Bhubaneswar: Tension prevailed near Kalinga Studio after two persons were injured in a road accident. The incident took place on Monday morning when a car rammed into a roadside shop. Later local residents staged a road blockade for an hour disrupting vehicular movement.

Encounter

Bhubaneswar: A 33-year-old criminal, Rabi Rao, was injured in a police encounter on the Puri Bypass Road on Sunday night. Rao sustained a bullet injury to his right leg after cops retaliated when he fired three rounds at them. A pistol was seized from him. He is admitted at SCB Medical College in Cuttack. 

Mahakud son

Bhubaneswar: Pankaj Mahakud, the son of an independent legislator from Champua, Sanatan Mahakud, appeared before a local court to record his statement on Monday. His statement was recorded after Kavita Mahakud had approached the Mahila Police saying she is the daughter-in-law of the legislator. Kavita has alleged harassment by the legislator over her marriage with Pankaj. 

Tanker fire

Balasore: A Calcutta-bound LPG tanker caught fire after it overturned  near Soro on Monday. The fire was doused with the help of four fire engines.
