Bhubaneswar: Sandeep Acharya, the convict in judo coach Biranchi Das’s murder went on parole on Wednesday to attend his mother’s death anniversary after Orissa High Court accepted his plea. Acharya was directed to depose before police on April 21.  

Mob rampage

Bhubaneswar: Protesters ransacked a steel plant in Athgarh after the death of a worker. The deceased sustained fatal injuries at a hot steel melting plant. The mob ransacked the plant till police reached the spot. Workers demanded better safety measures at the plant.

IIMC probe

Bhubaneswar: The sexual harassment case at Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), Dhenkanal will be investigated by Sashwati Goswami, a member of the Sexual Harassment Cell at IIMC, New Delhi. On April 7, a student English Journalism at IIMC, Dhenkanal had brought allegations of sexual harassment against a faculty member.
