Rebels give in

Bhubaneswar: Hundreds of Maoist sympathisers, including six militia commanders of CPI (Maoist), surrendered in Malkangiri district on Saturday in Mathili police station.

Bhubaneswar: Dangaria Kondhs under the banner of Niyamgiri Suraksha Manch held a meeting at Dangamati village and took a pledge to not allow mining activiites in the hills. They were protesting against state government’s move to seek permission of Supreme Court for organising fresh gram sabhas on the issue of bauxite mining in Niyamgiri. 

Body found

Bhubaneswar: The body of a six-year-old boy was recovered from a pond, nearly 300 metres away from his house at Khuntapasi village in Harichandanpur police limits on Saturday.
